Myx TV
Myx TV is a nationally-distributed cable television network in United States catering on Asian-American youth community.[1]
It is the only counterpart of Myx, a popular music channel in the Philippines. ABS-CBN Global Ltd., a division of ABS-CBN Corporation through its wholly owned subsidiary, ABS-CBN Global Hungary Kft., launched Myx TV on DirecTV channel 2067 on February 28, 2007. It is programmed and operated independently from its Philippine counterpart. After a competing channel, AZN Television, ceased operations in April 2008, it became the only nationally-distributed cable channel with a primary focus on Asian Americans in the U.S.
Since its debut on 2007, it became the home of new music such as that of Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, BoA, Justin Bieber, and the Far East Movement months or years before MTV and VH1.[2]
As of 2009, it has over half a million subscribers and is now part of the Filipino On Demand service of Comcast.[3]
